Notes: An exceptional site, with a male/female pairing of yews creating a vast coverred area where roots and branches are allowed to layer. In the first photo the female is in the foreground, a solid tree girthing 12' 10'' at 1'. The male in the background is hollowing, and girths 11' 9'' at 1'. Close ups of their trunks are seen in photos 2 and 3. In the space beneath the branches were many wooden stools used as seats during story telling sessions.
