Notes:In Lowe’s 1896 The Yew Trees of Great Britain and Ireland are details of 3 yews which form part of a group of 5 near the pergola at Carton, Maynooth (girths between 10′ and 12′ 6”) and another (10′ 6”) between the pergola and the boathouse).
In 2009 Aubrey Fennell recorded the yew seen here with a height of 13m and a girth of 5.96 m. He regarded it as possibly from a mid 17th century planting.
