Tree girth: No data
Girth height: not measured
Tree sex: unspecified
Date of visit: 1-Jan-98
Source of earliest mention: 1970: Brecon Yew Survey
Notes:1970 – Brecon Yew Survey recorded this as a hollow yew 25ft in girth NW of the church.
March 1986 – Allen Meredith: The churchyard had been tidied up. Thick, tangled undergrowth had been removed, revealing the other yew which I couldn’t find on my previous visit in 1984. This yew appears to be on a small burial mound, it is female, but not is such a good state as the other yew, it is broken up and decayed to some extent near the base. I didn’t take any measurements due to its condition.
2009 – Edwin Pretty: A slightly raised area of ground noted. In the middle of it a yew has been planted. Around the edge of the raised ground are the remains of a decayed tree trunk.
2011 – Tim Hills: I asked a local farmer about the lost yew. She said the old yew tree blew down in gales over twenty years earlier (presumably 1987) and that she had planted the sapling in 1998. Its always useful to establish planting dates, and its growth may be monitored over the years. We do not know the age of the sapling when it was planted. The tree is to the NW of the church.
