Drayton Bassett

September 2009 – Tim Hills: The female yew growing south of the church is completely hollow with one section of the old trunk sliced off. All growth now is through one single branch which leans considerably. Foliage on this is thick and growing vigorously. Four further large branches have all been removed. An idea of girth around these remains is just below 12ft.
With a girth of under 4m the tree has previously been classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it is now classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
