Great Fontley Farm

The bole is almost clear of lower growth apart from one area on its lower south side, preventing measurement at this height. It was measured about 3′ from the top of the mound (just above the new growth) and 14′ 1” (429cm) was recorded. The tree has an 8′ break of crown with one main leader and several substantial branches. There is evidence of hollowing on the east side of the tree at about 5′ from the ground, but the bole is still intact. Tapping the bole gave a hollow ring.
