Notes:1896: The yew growing SW was recorded with a girth of 12′ 0” (366cm) at 3′.
1984 – Reg Wheeler: A girth of 368cm (12′ 1”) at 30 cm.
2000 – Tim Hills: Girth of 13′ 2” (401cm) at 3′.
The more easterly of the two yews looked of similar size. It was recorded with a girth of 12′ 0” (366cm) at 3′ in 1896.
In 1984 Reg Wheeler recorded a girth of 418cm (13′ 8”) at the ground.
In 2000 it was covered in adventitious shoots, elder and ivy, making measurement impossible.
The photos show the most westerly yew first.
