Notes:

1981 – Allen Meredith: Girth of 25′ 6” (888cm) recorded. Height not given.
September 1997 – Tim Hills: A platform at 4′ with a large hollow beneath. Bole largely hidden by twiggy growth, nettles and elder. A girth of 24′ 3” (739cm) at the ground was recorded.
February 2006 – Tim Hills: The yew was once again able to take pride of place in the churchyard following the removal of the rubbish and the growth that previously surrounded the tree and hid the trunk. Except for a small gap at the base this is an almost completely covering of living wood.
June 2014 – Peter Norton: The large male yew is hollow with evidence of an internal stem that can be seen from a small basal cavity. Secondary wood is flowing around the old wood and may close up the gap. Its minimum girth was recorded close to the ground as 24′ 4” (742cm).
2016 – Tim Hills: A girth of 24′ 8” (752cm) recorded at its narrowest close to the ground. Ivy would have added to this measurement.
