Notes:This yew fell a considerable time ago and the church had the foresight to leave it rather than cut it up and have it removed. The hollow shell now runs parallel to the ground instead of upright and gives an opportunity to study internal growth at close quarters. New branches of large girth now grow upwards from the prone tree, with a particularly large one close to its base. This developed after the tree fell and gives an indication that it must have happened a long time ago.
