Notes:1897 – F.E.Powell’s Story of a Cheshire Parish is reported to contain the following description: “The old tree in our churchyard must have witnessed many a storm, even probably the terrific tornado which swept through Cheshire – as an eye-witness informs us – on July 20th 1662.”
It is not possible to see the size of the yew in the only images we have available. It also appears that there are two yews, growing either side of the path at the churchyard entrance.
