Notes:

1898: Notes of the parishes of Fyfield, Kimpton, Penton Mewsey, Weyhill and Wherwell has the following: “The yew tree standing on the south west side of the churchyard is still in fine growth, it measures 9′ 9” (297cm) at the base, but it was broken in the heavy snowstorm of 1881.”
May 1988 William Scrambler informed the Conservation Foundation: “This damage can still be seen, altho’ the tree has continued to grow, the branches showing deformity.” Girth was 10′ 9” (328cm) at 2′ and 11′ 8” (356cm) at 5′ 5”.
The Conservation Foundation were given an estimated age of 300 years by Allen Meredith and a certificate was sent. to the church.
2011 – Peter Norton: Two yews grow within the churchyard, the largest outside of the south porch is female with a memorial bench around the tree and girthed 11’ 4” (345cm) at 1’ and 11’ 1” (338cm) at 2’. On the south side of the tree a nail has been hammered in at the 2’ height. To the north of the church a younger male yew is found.
