Notes:

1988: A letter addressed to David Bellamy at the Conservation Foundation said: ‘the tree is possibly too small to be of interest’ with girths of 6′ at 3′ and 6′ 3” at 4′ recorded. It was also noted that ‘the tree divides at 2′ 6” from the ground’. A certificate giving the tree an estimated age of 130 years was issued.
