Site notes: | The first known written reference to a church at Dawlish dates from 1148, when an existing church was recorded as having been rebuilt. The present tower is thought to be around 700 years old. The tree is situated on a slight mound NW of the church. There are around twenty headstones on the mound beneath the tree, some only a few feet from the trunk. These date mainly from the early to mid-19th century. | ||
