Notes: The original church is thought to have been built between 1180 and 1220. It was extended in the 15th and 16th centuries. The 'very fine yew tree' was first noted more than two centuries ago. In 1937 Mee, in his King's England series wrote that 'for most of its centuries the 590 year old tower has had as its companion a fine yew'.
