Notes: The Abbey House is now a private home, but parts of the old Abbey grounds are accessible, including the graveyard. As well as the tree recorded here, a yew has been lost from this site. In Companion into Dorset, written by Dorothy Gardiner and first published in 1937, she records a many-stemmed yew on the site of St Augustines Well at Abbey House in Cerne Abbas. This yew no longer grows here.
