Notes: Although the wood is dominated by young planting of Thuya etc, the presence of daphne laureola, butchers broom, and two very old looking stools of large leaved lime suggest that this is old woodland. Towards Compton the hanger becomes pure yew for about a mile (Hugo Egleston). The trees here are on or close to the parish boundary of Idsworth and form part of the county boundary of Hampshire and West Sussex (Peter Norton).
