Notes: St Andrew's church was consecrated in 1215. It is considered by some to have been built on the site of St Congar's original wattle church. The drawings dated 1829 and (possibly) 1840 show a tree SE of the church. Are they artistic representations of the Congresbury Yew? In Rutter's 1826 Delineations of the NW Division of Somerset is the following: "The chancel windows are good specimens of the perpendicular era, and are shaded by an unusually fine yew tree."
