Notes: A churchwardens account of 1727/8 describes “setting a yew tree” in Didsbury. Every churchyard in Didsbury was visited but none of the yews looked likely to be the tree mentioned. However in 'The Old Parsonage Gardens', adjacent to St James Church was found a yew that might have been the tree described in 1727/8.
