Yews recorded at this site: Notable
Notes: March 2003 - In a single day's visit, I recorded 24 yews, but there are more to be discovered. The land is mainly steeply sloping chalk. If the engraving of about 1840 is accurate, it provides evidence that large numbers of the yews have been lost since that time. To reach tree 1 on the map I parked in the car park at TQ15805243. A path leaves the car park heading north and after about 500m it joins a tarmac road. Turn right onto this road for about 150m and look for a sign on the left to Druids Grove. Go down the steps and turn left. Smaller yews appear soon. I began recording after about 350m at TQ 15805300 and followed the path for a further 400m. This path is clearly marked on OS 25000 map.
