Notes: The building seen in the first photograph is about 80m from the church, on the other side of the main road, behind the old Serjeants' Inn. The building appears on an 1838 Tithe Map as a meeting house, and later as a school. The presence of the large old yew, and the stump of a second, suggests that an ecclesiastical building has existed on this site for several centuries. So was this the original site of the parish church?
