Notes: Grimescar Wood is north of Huddersfield. Take the Old Halifax Road and park in the woods just before a sharp bend. This is private but freely accessible land. In the 1950s a kiln was found within 100 yards of the tree and there are suggestions of a Roman settlement in the area.
