Notes: It is generally accepted that the church, consecrated in 802, stands on the site of an original Saxon building. The yew grows south of the church. As can be seen in the 1835 picture the tree was as some stage cut right back. It is quite remarkable to see how it has recovered when looking at a photograph from the same viewpoint.
