Notes: In the 1924 History of the County of Berkshire: Volume 4 'a fine yew' is described. Though in Berkshire this site is very close to both Hampshire and Wiltshire. The church was built in the 13th century. As you enter the churchyard there is this fine sculptured yew hedge with a semicircle cut away over the grave of Rev John Butler (d1895) who was once rector at St Michael.
