Notes: Itchen Wood is managed by the Forestry Commission. The location is Google Maps 51.122146, -1.252257 and it can be seen on Google Earth and Street View. The tree recorded here is in a beech plantation beneath an embankment on the west side of the M3 which was built around 1995 through this section of Itchen Wood. Being so close to the motorway I wondered whether it was protected in any way, but was unable to find TPO tags on any of the trees.
