Notes: Though the church dates only from the 13th century the site is thought to be considerably earlier. It is undoubtedly one of Kent's finest multiple tree sites. There are six yews with girths above 5m and records of a seventh, now lost. The young yew shown here grows in Kirtlington churchyard in Oxfordshire. The plaque reads "To celebrate 800 years of Magna Carta this tree was grown in 2015 from a 2000 year old yew at Molash in Kent, and planted in this churchyard by the children of Kirtlington School, Shrove Tuesday 2016." While it is possible that some of the Molash yews might have an age above 1,000 years, there is no evidence currently available to prove that any of its yews were growing 2,000 years ago.
