Notes: 1871 Stifford and its Neighbourhood, Past and Present. This book was printed for private circulation by William Palin. The original is held in New York Public Library. In the book is described:"the only curious tree is the venerable yew in the Rectory garden, supposed to be 600 years old, about the age of the church." The rector in 2007, Andy Higgs, informed me that the tree still existed.
