Notes: Owletts is occupied as a family home and administered and maintained on the National Trust's behalf by a descendant of the donor. For opening times visit the National Trust website. The name Owletts was first recored in 1492 and derives from that of an early owner. Some evidence has been found of a Tudor hall-house with Elizabethan floors. The present house dates from 1683.
