Notes: 1791: Collinson recorded '3 very large yew trees' of which only one survives. It appears on the left of the 1906 postcard, while the massive columnar trunk of one of the lost yews is seen on the right. In the second postcard the lost is the tall tree on the left of the picture. Our thanks to Christian Wolf for providing this evidence. 1826: Rutter's Delineations of the NW Division of Somerset noted that "In the churchyard are three venerable yew trees, two of immense size, and are supposed to be 500 years old."
