Notes: A line of yews grow along a public footpath near the junction of Holmwood Avenue and Mitchley Hill. It is likely that one of these trees features in a D.H.Lawrence poem 'Yew tree on the Downs', a location that is also mentioned in his novel 'The Trespasser'.
