Notes: The church shares this site with the ruins of a 12th century abbey. In the second photo the tree is seen more than 200 years ago. We do not know how many centuries ago the tradition of building a high wall around this tree began. The problem created is that the yew will always be expanding and the wall will from time to time need maintaining and even rebuilding.
