Notes: Yarsop Lane is a no through road leading east past Yazor's new estate church, built in the 1850s. The wood on the east side of the road is called Nash Wood on maps, though locally it is referred to as Yazor Wood, a name also given to Darkhill Wood to the west. The information recorded here applies only to yews that grow by the side of the road. There are many more in Nash Wood, with twenty three specimens visible from the road, but it is private land and strictly out of bounds. Some of these woodland yews appeared larger than those recorded here. I was also able to ascertain that some of the woodland specimens were growing on the earthwork remains of an old routeway.
