Notes: The present Yester House is dated 1699. These yews are at such a distance from the building that nobody believes them to be connected with it. An old castle on the estate is even further away, so it seems that these yews are more likely to be associated with a building that is long gone. The grounds containing the trees are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significant gardens. Both trees are similar in appearance and size to the nearby Whittinghame Yew.
