January 1999 – Tim Hills: The hollow shell, remains of a yew that has been considerably larger in larger in girth, leans away from the church. It’s branches are strapped to the top of 7 large poles which give much needed support. It may in the future split and become up to 3 separated fragments. A girth of 21′ (640cm) was recorded in Meredith’s 1994 gazetteer.
