Notes:

September 2005 Tim Hills: The web site which encouraged my visit to Ault Hucknall described a yew tree variously aged between 2000 and 4000 years. This is outlandish nonsense. Its almost complete skin has a single gash which reveals it to be hollow. At 6′ it divides into 2 main branches, each of which are also hollow. Girths recorded were 9′ 0” (274cm) at 2′, 9′ 2” (279cm) at 4′ and 9′ 6” (290cm) at 5′.
With a girth of under 4m the tree has previously been classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it is now classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
