Notes:Was this the ‘ancient yew-tree’ described in 1845? Its present girth suggests that in 1845 it would have been a more modest 8′, surely too small to have been called ancient at that time. So this might be the site of a lost yew. The tree we see today has numerous branches from a bole height of about 6′. Its girth at 1′ in 2003 was 12′ 1” (368cm).
