Tree ID: 1520
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 422cm
Girth height: at the ground
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 2-Apr-03
Source of earliest mention: 1991: Trees of Shropshire - Andrew Morton
Notes:April 2003 – Tim Hills: The larger girthed yew grows SSE of the church. It leans heavily to the south, but has thick strong branches on the north side redressing the balance. The girth recorded here is slightly affected by roots. Andrew Morton previously recorded a girth of 13′ 9” (419cm). I recorded 13′ 10” (422cm) at the ground in 2003.
February 2013 – Rob McBride records how this tree has been ‘managed’. An explanation for such heavy handed treatment was not forthcoming.
