August 1999 Tim Hills: A circular wall 2′ 6” high has been built around the yew, hiding the base of the tree. One of its 3 trunks appeared older than the others. A millennium yew grows here, this one planted by Her Grace the Duchess of Devonshire to mark the occasion of her 80th birthday – March 31st 2000 A.D.
