Notes:June 2002 – Tim Hills: Smallest of the Borrowdale Yews. A large portion of its trunk consists of dead wood. Many of its branches reach the ground. Girth was 14′ 8” (447cm) at 1′.
February 2015: An article in British Wildlife, p 178-182 by Maurice Pankhurst, Stuart A’Hara and Joan Cottrell establishes that tree 3 is not linked by DNA analysis to trees 1 and 2.
