Notes:

April 2002 – Tim Hills: The yew has a sound, complete bole and healthy crown. Height estimated as 14m.
March 2006 – Steve Young: An explanation for this strange sight is that the yew was planted by Queen Elizabeth as a token of her thanks for staying at nearby Boughton Manor. There is no explanation for the large raised enclosure.
2008 – Enclosure is 6x6m and walls retain soil at over 2m above the level of the field.
