October 1999 – Tim Hills: A vast expanse of the original bole remains, not only of great girth but also rising 15′ to 20′. Vigorous secondary growth surrounds the dead shell. Girth was 22′ 4” (681cm) above the roots and close to the ground.
May 2008 -Dave Kenny: A fine and healthy tree, girth 6.86 @ 0.1m.
May 2013 – Peter Norton: One large female grows close to the southeast corner of the church. Evidence of large mammal activity can be seen at the foot of the tree where new earth has been thrown up, and also in the small cavity that leads into the hollow centre. Girth was 22′ 9” (693cm) at the ground level from the top of the slope. There is a natural waistline at this height.
