Yews recorded: Notable

Tree girth: 345cm

Girth height: at the ground

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 5-Aug-07

Source of earliest mention: 1843: J.C.Loudon - Arboretum

Only one of the two remains. It grows SW and when viewed from the church appears to be a solid tree. From the other side it can be seen that a large portion of the tree has gone, revealing internal growth. There is much adventitious growth on both trunk and branches. A second yew in the churchyard grows to the NE girths about 9′. This would have been too small 160 years ago to have been the 2nd tree Loudon described as ‘above 500 years’.
