December 2007 – Cliff Hansford: This yew grows east of the church. Thick stems of ivy reach into its lower branches. A girth of 15′ 0” (457cm) was recorded at 2′ 6” from the ground, at a point just below where the tree separates into numerous limbs. The canopy diameter was approximately 35′. Though the crown was healthy, ivy had taken hold and reached high into the yew’s low and spreading canopy. Some ivy stems were 3” in diameter.
