Tree ID: 1545

Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m

Tree girth: 429cm

Girth height: at 30cm

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 4-Apr-03

Source of earliest mention: 1939: The King's England - Arthur Mee

Notes:

April 2003 – Tim Hills: A hollow shell remains of what was once a much larger tree. In spite of (1) smoke or fire damage (2) ivy covering much of the bole (3) an accumulation of churchyard waste behind the tree, the branches rising from this shell carried dense foliage.
December 2014 – Tim Hills: Description from 2003 applies also to 2014. I made no attempt to remeasure through the ivy.
