Notes:

C1980 – Percy Morgan: ‘There is one old wind swept common yew, girth 15ft at 5ft, SE of the church.
2000 – Pat Denne recorded the yew with a diameter of 120cm.
November 2016 – Paul Wood: Close inspection of the ground, after clearing and flattening weeds and nettles, revealed the decaying stump of what was a 21’ (6.40m) girthed yew. Remarkably, a small amount of new growth rises from one part of the old stump, so the ancient tree lives on. The loss of the original tree seems to have only taken place in the last 10/15 years. Evidence suggests that it was probably felled by the adverse weather conditions so often experienced in this area, and that the considerable remains were tidied up.
