1866 Woolhope: Girth of 17′ 10” (544cm).
August 1999 – Tim Hills: It measured 17′ 6” (533cm) between the ground and 1′, swelling dramatically above this height.
2012 – Tim Hills: Remeasured between the ground and 1′ was 18′ 3” (556cm).
October 2015 – Peter Norton: The yew is found on Google Maps at 52.067058, -3.110346. It is male with a bulbous lower bole and a girth of 17′ 10” (544cm) with the tape at the root crown and ground. Somebody has unnecessarily hammered in nails at this obvious measuring point.
April 2016 – Paul Wood: Measured at root crown – the only realistic place to record its girth – was 17′ 10” (544cm).
