Cwm-Hydfer

In 1895 an article about Eglwys Cwmhydfer notes that ‘there stand two yew trees’. By the time of the Brecon Yew Survey in 1970 the church is gone and the ‘two ancient yews’ are now ‘in a tapering corner of a field in Cwmhydfer Farm in the Parish of Traeanglas’. One was described as probably 13ft in girth, the other was given a diameter of 8ft. Two old yews survive, but neither was as large as the suggested 8ft diameter.
