Notes:

February 2006 – Tim Hills: An elongated bole with one space at the ground revealing large hollow spaces and internal growth. A large outpouring of branches at each end of the bole separated by a small platform at a height of 5’/6′. The tree was at serious risk of fire damage with this amount of combustible material stored beneath its branches. We were informed later in the year that the fire risk had been removed. A girth of 19′ 2” (584cm) was recorded close to the ground.
2014 – Peter Norton: Girth of 19′ 3” (587cm) close to the ground.

November 2016 – Tim Hills: The ground had been cleared making it possible to properly appreciate this fine tree. A girth of 19′ 4” (589cm) was recorded at or close to the ground.
July 2021 Brynley Andrews: Yew assessed on 24th July. Girth – 616cm average at 30cm above ground level. Girth 822cm average at 100cm. Less than average health – denuded 20 per cent, poor tip extension growth, suspect soil / water conditions – too well drained and fertility suspected. Trifurcated from about 3m height and primary branches. Cavity opening at ground level 250mm west x 360mm tall on east side. Decay from branch failure at 2m on east side. Tree needs mulch.
