Notes:

1866 – Woolhope Papers: A girth of 14′ (427cm) was recorded and the tree described as ‘one out of several’.
August 1999 – Tim Hills: A solid looking tree concealing its hollow state. Ivy had recently been removed and its dying leaves were visible high into the tree. The following girths were recorded: 18′ 10” (574cm) at the ground, 18′ 3″ (556cm) at 3′ and 20′ 11″ (638cm) at 5′.
May 2015 – Paul Wood: Girth of 19′ 2” (584cm) at the ground recorded. Tree looked very much as photographed in 1999 except that ivy has encroached once again.
