Notes:

In 1872 The Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales recorded that ‘a very large yew tree is in the churchyard’. According to the 1923 History of Berkshire:Vol III it was ‘said to be the oldest and largest in Berkshire’. It is neither of these, but a fine tree nonetheless.
