In a 2008 draft for his FLORA of CARDIGANSHIRE, Arthur O.Chater noted: ‘The westernmost and biggest of the Yews shading the path to the church is a male tree, 372cm girth in 1992’.
In 2014 Paolo Bavaresco described it as a ‘fine single stem trunk with no discernible taper in the bole, measured at the base as 450cm opposite the church entrance’. He also noted ‘a multi stemmed yew with a girth at the base of 590cm first on the left when entering through the lychgate. Both trees in fine condition, the larger I noted as a female. The smaller tree is fine indeed and both appear well cared for’.
