Tree girth: 298cm

Girth height: at 15cm

Tree sex: male

Notes:

The yew grows in the corner of a formal garden, consisting of four box hedges in a square with a yew in the centre. A large branch which would have been facing the house has snapped off or been removed. In the space behind can be seen much internal root material. It is a fine fluted tree with upright fluted branches from 10′ and upwards. There is also lateral growth over the summer house and wall to an adjacent garden. Fine foliage on a healthy looking tree. Additional girth recorded was 8′ 7” at 3′. Allowing for the tree planted in 1828 being a few years old at the time of planting, it will be about 200 years of age.
